The Government of India, introduced Udyam Registration on 1st July 2020, and the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) set a due date for the migration of all existing Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) registrations to Udyam Registration by 31st March 2021. However, the last date of validity was later extended from 31st March 2021 to December 31, 2021, and was further extended to 31st March 2022 through Gazette Notification no. S.O.278E dated 19.01.2022
It is important to note that all entrepreneurs who obtained Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) until 30.06.2020 will remain valid until 31.03.2022. However, after this date, all Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum registrations will become invalid. Existing UAM holders must migrate to Udyam registration to continue availing the various benefits of MSME registration
